Yoga Studio 6 LIC
Alicia Bustamante
Alicia, the founder of Yoga Studio 6 LIC, isn’t happy unless her students are happy. That’s her goal for every student in every class – no matter what their shape, size or experience level -- and her extensive training and encouraging spirit make it happen.
She began life as a dancer, earning an MFA in Dance from NYU. For the next 20 years, she gathered experience in the Health and Fitness Industry and has taught in Medical Centers, schools and wellness spas.
The last fifteen years have been dedicated to her lifelong passion, Yoga. She has trained at the highly-respected Kripalu Institute where she earned certification as a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist (600 Hours). Her practice led her to the Iyengar Yoga Instiute of New York where she began her studies with Jean Arnoff and currently studying with Genny Kapuler. She also studies with Kofi Busia.
Alicia blends the best of many traditions in her yoga teaching. Her style has been greatly influenced by her dance background where creativity, flow and music play a big part. Her Pilates training adds a contemporary ingredient to her practice and yoga instruction. Her contagious enthusiasm, warmth, and sense of humor make everyone feel as if they were born to do yoga.
Helena Chateau
is a certified member of Yoga Alliance (RYT). She has been teaching
group classes and private instruction for 20 years. She is certified in the Hatha
Yoga Tradition including Prenatal/Postnatal training, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy
and Insight yoga with Sarah Powers.
Helena’s approach is soft and gentle with the intention that each individual will
sculpt and transform their practice into their own personal masterpiece.
Illuminating one's being for the universal whole. Whether a
beginner or advanced practioner, her approach is simple and focused on
nurturing the body, heart and mind to awaken the true self.
Charles Cohen
had the great fortune of an introduction
to yoga in 1994. The practice of yoga quickly replaced his other physical
routines as it was clearly more than exercise. Understanding the many
benefits lead him to the Jivamukti Yoga School in 1995 where he practiced
the comprehensive Jivamukti method. In 2007 he decided it was time to share
the great pleasure and insights from years of practice by successfully
pursuing certification from his teachers David Life and Sharon Gannon to
whom he owes great gratitude. You will enjoy the passion Charles brings to
his classes.

Kristin Krail
inner creative force draws her to Vinyasa (flow) Yoga; it appeals
to a calling to help find her students' unique inner strengths and
complements her own artistic work as singer, dancer, and actress. Yoga
has been a beautiful means for her to build physical strength and become
more attuned to the Breath Body, while the creative sequencing
of the Vinyasa style blends well with Kristin's artistic inner voice.
Kristin, received her 200 Hour Teaching Certificate from Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in NYC under the generous guidance of Alison Cramer and Stacey Brass. She currently teaches both children and adults throughout Manhattan in
group and private settings. Her classes are a creative blend of linking
the physical body with the breath-body (life force)- using a mix of asanas,
pranayama, meditation, energy of the city, music, and more. Gratitude
goes to Alicia for the opportunity to serve the delightful community at
Yoga Studio LIC 6.
